Grief Support
Acompalia is at your side from the early stages until the very end; it keeps you company and gives you helpful advice in these difficult times.

Receiving a diagnosis of cancer, undergoing unpleasant treatments and learning to adapt to life with a life threatening illness are major challenges. All too easily they can impact our ability to maintain a reasonable quality of life.
At Acompalia we are there for you right from the start. You might be referred to us by your doctor, you might see one of our advertisements in local newspapers or you might find us through the Town Hall or your friends. Whichever way you find us, you will have the comfort of knowing that you don‘t have to fight this battle alone.
You can call and talk to one of our Helpline operators. These trained and caring volunteers are there to listen to your fears and worries and to answer the many questions you may have. If you wish, we can also be there during your treatment. If you feel alone and are not comfortable speaking Spanish, an Acompanion can go with you to your doctor’s appointments or regular therapies.
In addition to being there for you, we are also there for your family members, who can talk to us and get our support. When times are difficult and you are trying to cope with difficult emotions, memories or thoughts, we have caring professionals such as psychologists and nurses who can help you. Being emotionally prepared for the end of life can bring you great comfort and understanding.
